Pierre-Antoine DENIS

French • 24yo • TV Presenter / Producer / Reporter

After completing a MA in International Journalism from City University in 2017, I have developed my skills as a TV Producer for several prestigious news outlets.

I am now working as a Broadcast journalist for BBC Africa and the whole BBC World Service.

In this portfolio website, you will find that I have so far presented over 100 TV News bulletins in French, and did live contributions in English for the News Channel.

I have proven the ability to cover live in both English and French large-scale events. such as the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, and the COP25 in Madrid.

Behind the camera, I have outputted over 100 TV news programme in both French and English, including BBC World News' Focus on Africa

My diverse Mediterranean heritage makes me also speak Spanish and Italian.

BBC Infos

Daily TV news bulletin for the French service within BBC Africa hub

8 partner stations across Francophone Africa for an estimated audience of 2 million people each week.

BBC AFRIQUE

BBC AFRIQUE

Since April, I am regularly presenting the daily 15 minutes programme in French.

The aim of BBC Infos is to be as pan-african as possible in our coverage and to show the biggest international news of the day to our african audience.

The programme has increased rapidly on our social media platform in 2019, multiplying by 10 times our audience on digital platforms, and by the end of 2020, we will be shown in two more countries than when I started.

I have brought forward many ideas into this team, such as incorporating live feed images, and also by taking more risks in the way we cover news. By using graphic sequence or bringing more guests live, we have made our bulletin more dynamic than ever before. This has been hugely appreciated as we have been described as the "example" to follow within BBC Africa's hub.

BBC World News

Africa's flagship programme on BBC World News.

Daily 30-minutes bulletin focused only on the continent with several millions of people watching it daily.

Focus on Africa TV

Working for BBC World News is by far one of the most powerful moments so far in my journalistic career. As a child, I was watching BBC World News while preparing for high school so that I could learn english.

With FOA TV, I had the chance to look at all aspects of the programme. I started with on-screen contributions, they can be seen here. This allowed me to seize the intensity of a programme that is watched by several millions of people across Africa and the whole world on a daily basis.

Then, I have been given the opportunity during COP 25 in Madrid to do live contributions and TV Packages, as their special correspondent for the conference. 3 packages and 2 live contributions have been broadcasted over the two-weeks. They can be seen here.

Finally, very recently, I have seen the last remaining aspect, the production. I recently became one of the youngest Output Senior Broadcast Journalist on BBC World News.
